We were chosen for the Live Anywhere Program with Airbnb!

Dusting off the old website to say hello from the other side - which is life with two kids! Turns out parenting two kids - 2 and under was a major life adjustment that made us homebodies for a season & then that season was immediately followed of course by the Covid 19 pandemic that began in March 2020 in the States.

I am thankful for those days at home with our girls, but come Summer 2021 when the world slowly but surely felt a little more safe again Colin and I both felt like we were ready to make a plan to incorporate travel back into our lives. We decided that with Colin working remotely, we could save enough every year to spend 4-6 weeks a year living abroad. Our plan was that the Summer of 2022, we would find an affordable Airbnb and soak up the digital nomad life somewhere new! 

But then, Airbnb invited people to apply for the Live Anywhere Program. If chosen, Airbnb would essential sponsor a year of travel for 12 lucky participants to literally LIVE ANYWHERE. Colin mentioned it to me and like most online offers, I thought, “Throw your name in the hat, but what are the chances we are actually selected?”

Well the chances turned out to be 12/314,000! Colin was one of 12 participants selected out of 314,000 applications! INCREDIBLE! We found out late July that we were chosen, confirmed with Colin’s employers that day that working remotely in a different time zones would be doable, and found tenants for our home in SC… all on the same day. So we decided to do the crazy thing, and pack our lives into 3 suitcases and take our girls on the adventure of a lifetime! 

We are a few months in and truly love getting to travel with our girls. We decided that these new memories required us to dust off this old blog & fill it with new experiences. We hope some of our tips are helpful in planning your own family adventures and if anything, inspire you to explore new things together.
